FAQs

What is it?

TMS is a non-invasive, painless, in-office procedure. An electromagnetic coil is placed against patient’s head on their C3 area. The coil gives off painless magnetic pulses that feel like light taps which stimulate under active areas of the brain.

How does it work?

TMS increases the response of nerve cells in under active areas of the brain, promoting neuronal activity and subsequently increasing mood.

How many treatment sessions do I need?

Sessions are 4 times a week (Monday-Thursday) for 5-6 weeks total.

How long are treatment sessions?

Sessions are 20 minute long.

Is there maintenance required?

Recommended continued medication maintenance after the 5-6 weeks of therapy, “booster sessions” are available if remission dwindles.
